Why we chose it
We’re careful about every treat we bring into your Customer Shop. Our first question is always how they’re farmed, sourced and produced. Animal welfare and sustainability really matter to us, in everything we do. So we’ve already ethically sourced and produced low-fat chews, omega-rich fish treats and a natural wormer in our hairy rabbit hide rolls. We wanted to add something to complement all of these – that kept with our strict value system.
Herring is one of the most abundant fast-growing fish in the world. Wild-caught and naturally oily, it’s a responsible choice that delivers excellent nutritional value. So this treat ticks every box: sustainable, gentle, functional and full of benefits.
What are the benefits?
High in nutrients but low in calories, these bitesize buttons are perfect for walks, training and reinforcing good behaviour throughout the day. They come in a resealable pack so they’re easy to bring along when you’re out and about – and what better way to reward than with something that’s genuinely beneficial?
They’re naturally hypoallergenic and gentle on digestion, making them a great choice for puppies, senior dogs and those with sensitive tummies. The herring is wild-caught in the Baltic Sea and air-dried to retain its full nutritional profile – a rich natural source of omega 3, which supports brain function, skin health, immune strength and mobility.
The added pumpkin brings a host of gut-supporting benefits – it’s a natural stomach soother and rich in prebiotic fibre, helping to balance digestion and support stool quality. It’s also a source of vitamin A (for vision) and potassium (for muscle function and metabolism).
